Meet Gillian
Gillian Hanbury is the founder and operations manager of Home by Hanbury, LLC. Gillian has always had a flair for organizing and design and, from a young age, was the kid who regularly cleaned out and reorganized her closet and loved helping friends and family do the same. Creating spaces that are both functional and beautiful has been her happy place for as long as she can remember.
Driven by a love of organizing and a desire to turn that passion into a career, Gillian founded Home by Hanbury in early 2021 in Chicago. She quickly built a diverse client base throughout the Chicagoland area and beyond, serving clients in New York, Washington, DC, Utah, Wisconsin, and other select markets.
Gillian spent a significant amount of time working in Park City, Utah, which led her to relocate there full-time in early 2022, bringing Home by Hanbury, LLC with her. In early 2026, she made the move to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she is now based, while continuing to serve clients beyond the Milwaukee area.
Before founding Home by Hanbury and simplifying clients’ lives, Gillian spent nearly seven years with Marriott International, building experience across luxury hospitality, client experience, operations, sales and marketing, and financial administration. That hospitality background became an important foundation for the high-touch, detail-driven approach she brings to every Home by Hanbury client and project.
Drawing on that hospitality background, Gillian founded Home by Hanbury to bring the same level of thoughtful, detail-driven service to the home. What began as professional organizing grew into comprehensive residential project management, move management, sourcing and procurement, vendor coordination, and home styling for clients with complex homes, projects, and transitions. Gillian takes great pride in helping her clients create joyful, functional, and beautifully executed spaces and is grateful to have turned her passion into a profession.
She holds a Bachelor of Multidisciplinary Studies from West Virginia University, with concentrations in Event Planning, Communications, and Advertising. Gillian was a Division I athlete and served as a coxswain on the women’s rowing team, a sport that has played a significant role in her life. Although she misses spending time on the water, she continues to value an active, balanced lifestyle.
Known for her creative eye and knack for thoughtful details, Gillian enjoys hiking, skiing, traveling, cake decorating, and spending quality time with family and friends. When she’s not working on a project, you can usually find her getting out for an adventure with Moose, her German Shepherd–Lab mix, who has yet to embrace her enthusiasm for keeping things neat and organized.
